Olive Oil Testing by IOC-Certified Labs & Panels

The NAOOA is pleased to now offer sample testing coordination services to non-members. To ensure your olive oil is the “real deal," test it for compliance with the International Olive Council (IOC) standards. The IOC, based in Madrid, Spain, was founded in 1959 and sets and maintains olive oil grade standards and test methods for global trade.

As the only trade group in the U.S. arranging comprehensive authenticity testing of all grades of olive oil, the NAOOA can assist industry stakeholders in obtaining independent, IOC-Certified analysis of olive oils. Click the link here to download the Olive Oil Testing Coordination Program summary.

For one simple flat-rate fee per sample, the NAOOA will arrange:

  • Full IOC-compliance testing for authenticity and quality, including sensory evaluation for extra virgin olive oils
  • Packaging materials and sample jars
  • Shipping and handling, including customs paperwork and duties
  • Copy of label information, laboratory and panel results
  • Assistance interpreting the certificates of analysis

There’s no need to settle for labs that are not accredited for olive oil testing and/or only perform partial analyses –

Get Started here in 3 Easy Steps:

  1. Contact the NAOOA at (732) 922-3008 or oliveoiltesting@naooa.org to discuss your testing needs
  2. Complete paperwork and ship samples to New Jersey
  3. The NAOOA takes care of the rest
Test results usually returned within 5 – 8 weeks of receiving your sample
